又再次託大家的福, 能夠到在大啖我愛吃的Ruth Chris牛排同時, 配上好喝的紅酒. 這次的4瓶來自不同產區: 1瓶US, 2瓶Burgundy, 1瓶Bordeaux

1.  2004 uilceda Creek Galitzine Vineyard, Cabernet Sauvignon (Red Mountain, Washington)

      100% Cab. Dark, inky color. Beautiful bouquet of blackberry and black currant aromas mixed with some beef jerky. Blackberry jam, smoked meats, and a hint of cotton candy come through on the palate. At 14.9% alcohol, it does seem just a bit hot. Full-bodied with high, but not harsh, tannins. Well-balanced, extremely flavorful and smooth with a very long finish. Gets better with food and the longer it is open. (source: winepeeps.com)

2.  2006 Louis Jadot Volnay Clos des Chenes, Pinot Noir (Burgundy, France)

      The wine is "Palish medium red. Redcurrant, cherry, cinnamon and a minty nuance on the nose. Juicy and tightly wound, with good intensity and length. But this minerally, elegant wine is also a bit strict today." WS score:89-92. (Source: WS)

3.  2006 Domaine Jean-Marc Pavelot Savigny-lès-Beaune "La Dominode"(Burgundy, France)

      Here the nose is every bit as complex as that of the Gravains with its pure and ripe aromas of plum, earth, stone and spice hints that introduce intensely earthy medium-bodied flavors that are textured and refined but powerful, all wrapped in a finish that displays a hint of animale on the slightly more structured finish that seems to go on and on.(Source: WS)

4.  1998 Château Canon-la-Gaffelière (France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru)
"95 out of 100...Wonderful aromas of ripe fruit, Indian spices and mineral. Full-bodied, with fine tannins and a plush structure that caresses every inch of your palate. Really fine and fabulous. Much better than from barrel. Best ever from this estate. Best after 2010. 4,580 cases made." (Source: WS)

Eggy:

4瓶中最喜歡的是 Domaine Jean-Marc Pavelot, 喝起來非常順口, 有berry味道. 感覺 Louis Jadot Volnay沒那麼好喝因為我們喝的時候已經開了一天了. 至於 Quilceda Creek 其實是很好的美國酒, 理所當然的擁有美國酒特色, 香噴噴, 有sugar的味道, 這瓶聞起來有淡淡香草味. 我還是處在一般初學者 喜歡香甜酒的階段, 但是這瓶不向其他容易喝膩, 而且雖單喝覺得甜, 其實它配起牛排卻非常適合, 大口吃肉加一口 Quilceda Creek剛剛好. 哈....過4瓶中比較不得我緣的是唯一一個Bordeaux代表. 怎麼說呢, 感覺我其實還是沒有那麼喜歡太嚴肅的酒, 尤其是那種朽木和菇類的氣味, 雖然這是老Bordeaux酒的指標, 但是如果配了食物, 這種味道還是揮之不去的話, 我就沒有那麼喜歡~~ (說歸說....有得喝都很感恩了啦...Y__Y)

Eggy 小提點:

Quilceda Creek在過去4年裡被Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate評過3次100分喔. 分別是2002, 2003,和2005. 這次的2004雖然不是滿分,但也得到99的高分. 根據Guru Knut品嘗過02年的經驗, 他覺得04還比02讚. 正好呼應其實分數的高低不一定代表個人喜好或酒的真正價值和好喝程度. 畢竟, 品酒是主觀的, 而分數及便來自世界級的品酒家, 也是這些人主觀的評比阿. 噹噹~~ 本次Take-home message: 喝酒就是相信自己的感覺啦,分數當參考用
